Safety Operating Procedures for PVC Plastic Pipe Extruder Machine

1. Personnel who have not passed the on-the-job assessment and operation training are not allowed to operate the PVC plastic pipe extruder machine independently.

2. Those with poor eyesight or slow reactions are not allowed to operate.

3. Before starting the machine, ensure the surrounding environment of the equipment is clean and tidy. No items unrelated to production should be piled up around the equipment.

4. Before production, check if all safety settings of the extruder are damaged, and test if it can work effectively. Check if all connecting bolts are loose and if all safety protection devices are secure.

5. Check all lubrication parts, remove dirt, and add lubricating oil.

6. The heating and constant temperature time for the barrel and mold must be guaranteed. Do not start production when the material temperature does not meet the process requirements.

7. Before starting the screw drive motor, support the V-belt pulley with your hand. The motor should rotate flexibly without any obstruction. Then, start the lubricating oil pump for 3 minutes before starting the screw at a low speed.

8. The empty running time of the screw should not exceed 2 to 3 minutes.

9. Before adding material to the barrel, check the barrel and hopper. There should be no foreign objects. There should be no metal, sand particles or other impurities in the raw materials to prevent damage to the screw.

10. After the screw is started, the working sounds of all transmission parts should be normal, and the current of the main motor should be within the allowable rated value. Only then can material be added to the barrel. When adding material, add it in small and even amounts.

11. When adjusting the gap of the mold or removing dirt, the operator should wear gloves. Do not face the barrel or mold directly to prevent molten material from spraying out and causing burns to the body.

12. During the operation of the extruder, do not perform maintenance or do any work on the equipment.

13. In the following situations, emergency shutdown should be carried out immediately:

- The temperature of the bearing area is too high, and the lubricating oil (grease) is flowing out;

- The motor emits an abnormal smell, smoke, or the shell temperature is too high;

- The temperature of the lubricating oil in the reduction gearbox is rising, and there is smoke;

- The transmission parts emit irregular abnormal sounds;

- The machine produces severe vibration;

- The screw suddenly stops rotating.

14. The positions of the safety cover and safety alarm device on the equipment should not be changed at will, and it is not allowed to cause malfunction by human factors.

15. When there is water or oil leakage on the equipment, it should be repaired and the fault should be eliminated in time. Do not allow water or oil to flow around the machine.
